Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The mysterious death of Faizan Ahmed, a student at IIT Kharagpur, has taken a shocking turn as the second postmortem report indicates that he was murdered as part of a conspiracy.
Initially declared as a suicide by IIT Kharagpur, Faizan's parents suspected foul play and approached the Calcutta High Court, which ordered a fresh postmortem. The new report revealed injury marks on Faizan's body, confirming that he did not take his own life.
Responding to the development, the High Court has established a special investigation team (SIT) to delve into the circumstances surrounding Faizan's death. The court has also granted permission for the SIT to conduct a narco test on the suspects involved in the case.
The initial postmortem report was questioned by an expert committee, prompting the exhumation of Faizan's body for the second examination. The court expressed displeasure with IIT Kharagpur's handling of the case.
Faizan's family accused IIT Kharagpur of concealing his death, leading to the court's reprimand and the decision to conduct another postmortem. The court emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth and ordered the body to be exhumed.
During the proceedings, Faizan's parents revealed that their son had been subjected to ragging by senior students and had reported the incidents to the institute's management, but their complaints were allegedly ignored.
